NAIROBI [ACTED News] - ACTED is leading a consortium project to support better informed, more consistent, and better coordinated programming on the voluntary return of internally displaced populations (IDPs) in Somalia. In partnership with REACH, an innovative tool that aims to enhance the effectiveness of planning and coordination by aid actors in countries that are in crisis or at-risk of crisis, ACTED will facilitate the creation of an online platform where new Monitoring and Evaluation methods, including a large database, can be shared with partners, such as other humanitarian actors on the ground. This will allow them to immediately analyse the available data with information disaggregated by intervention sector, ultimately allowing humanitarian actors to better respond to the needs of the returning populations.
The Return Consortium is an initiative of DRC, FAO, INTERSOS, IOM, Islamic Relief, NRC and UNHCR to facilitate IDP voluntary return programming in Somalia.
