Spain - Floods
• Snow melt is causing the increase of river levels in north-eastern Spain, including Navarra, Aragon and Basque Country, with one fatality in Navarra, as of 26 February. The Spanish CP has issued alerts for river increase and floods and has activated the Copernicus EMS.

Syria - Conflict
• Fighting continues between ISIL and Kurdish forces, displacing 1,000 families that took refuge in Al Hassakeh and Qamishli.
• In Aleppo and Dar’a, water and electricity have been denied to over 2 million people, while only 304 out of 212,000 people in besieged areas received food assistance in January. In Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, 600,000 people have not received food assistance since December 2014.
• Efforts continue to ensure provision of relief assistance throughout the country.

Pakistan - Earthquake
• An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 M occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 26 February. The epicentre was located near the border of Battagram and Manshehra districts. Over 3.6 million people were exposed to Light shaking (USGS PAGER). Tremors were felt around Islamabad and parts of Khyber Paktunkhwa, while 15 people were injured and a number of mud houses collapsed, according to media.

Pakistan - Severe weather
• Heavy rainfall affected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) over 24-25 February. Six people died and houses, transportation and electricity networks were damaged.
• Isolated rainfall is forecast for north-western Pakistan on 27 February.

Chad - Population displacement
• Over 1,300 people, including Nigerians, Cameroonians and Chadian returnees, arrived in Mayo-Kebbi East, fleeing Boko Haram attacks in Nigeria. The situation is currently under assessment.

Iraq - Conflict
• More than 2.4 million people are displaced throughout Iraq. The Governorates of Baghdad, Kirkuk and Diyala have witnessed the largest waves of displacement in recent weeks. In al-Anbar, Ninewa, Salah Al-Din, Diyala and Kirkuk, civilians have virtually no access to basic services and assistance reaches them only sporadically.
• The protection of Christians and Sunni Arabs in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq is also a serious concern.

Afghanistan - Severe weather
• The death toll due to the recent snow avalanches is standing at 209 as of 26 February and continues increasing. Worst affected is central Panjshir. NOAA forecasts mostly dry weather for the country over 27 February - 5 March.
