Situation Update
The security situation in northern Mali continues to deteriorate with an increase in IEDs, mortar attacks and other security incidents. This is having an overall impact on WFP’s activities and limits staff movement.
In numbers
The November “Cadre Harmonisé” identified 263,049 people that required immediate food assistance.
Funding Update:
EMOP 200525 and SO 200521 ended on 31 December.
CP 105830 is undergoing a budget revision for an extension until June 2015. Multiyear contributions from Canada and ECHO are available to cover the 2015 requirement.
Food Security Cluster
In total, 3.3 million people have been assisted by Clus-ter activities since March 2014. During the 2014 agri-cultural season, approximately 1.26 million people re-ceived livelihoods support through the Cluster.
UNHAS
Thanks to the Danish contribution of US$1.6 million, UN-HAS is now funded at 40 percent.
