The Trend Analysis is a study of food security and nutrition trends over the past five years (2007-2012). It consists of a disaggregation of different sources of Food Security and Nutrition data on the country, such as malnutrition, vegetation growth, land degradation, population density or settlement data. It is intended to inform the discussion on the long-term trends and possible underlying factors of food and nutrition insecurity in Somalia. This is particularly relevant in the context of the current paradigm shift in the response to the humanitarian crisis affecting the country, which is represented by the new three-year Consolidated Appeal Process (CAP) 2013-2015.
