Addis Ababa December 20/2012 A rural water supply project executed by the Japanese government at a cost of 223 million Birr in Dandi woreda of Oromia State was inaugurated, the Japans’ embassy told ENA in a statement on Monday. The embassy told ENA that the water project includes the construction of 67 deep wells, 15 spring development, elevated water storage tanks and water ponds and installation of 80 km pipe line. Japanese ambassador to Ethiopia Hiroyuki Kishino and State Water, Mineral and Energy Bureau head Motumma Maqassa inaugurated the projects. On the occasion, the ambassador said the people and the government of Japan would help Ethiopia’s efforts in improving rural water supply. H said his country will remain firm to support the implementation of the Growth and Transformation Plan.
